What is Placenta Encapsulation?

A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO NURTURE YOURSELF WHILE YOU CARE FOR YOUR CHILD.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the placenta is prepared and processed into capsule form.  This allows the mother  to easily ingest the placenta in capsule form.

Why Encapsulate Your Placenta?

In addition to the reasons stated above your body created a temporary endocrine --hormone producing--organ, the placenta,  to nourish your growing child. The placenta grows with the child and provides a harmonious relationship between the needs of your body and the child within the womb. When the placenta is birthed this incredible organ is thriving with all the elements it needed to keep you and your child safe through pregnancy. Placenta preparation preserves these elements allowing you to reap the benefits of the placenta well beyond pregnancy.

Ingesting your placenta, either raw or encapsulated, may help ease the transition from pregnancy to motherhood.  Many women seek "natural supplements" to help with the side effects of birthing a child and recovery but your body has already created this for you.  Perfectly formulated for your needs for this very unique, challenging, and inspirational period of your life.
  • An increase in energy level
  • Less bleeding time after birth
  • Less irritability due to fatigue
  • An increase in iron levels
  • Decreased incidence of postpartum depression
  • Decreased incidence of the “Baby Blues”
  • Restored hormonal balance
  • Increased breastmilk supply
  • General improvement in health and vitality
If any capsules remain, the placenta can be used for other homeopathic treatments to common ailments and mood disorders (like getting your period back)

AND, people have been doing this for centuries.

Hire Me!

This is my business. This is what I love and this is what I do and I do it with care, respect and compassion for mama, placenta and child.
My admiration for this work is what sets me apart. I am trained and I work in a clean, safe environment.

My favorite thing about the encapsulation process is being with the family hours after the child is born. There is a gentleness and love that is indescribable and incomparable to any other experience I have had. I am so honored to be invited into that space. And then, so honored to work with the placenta, to work with life, to work with the organ that is so ancient, so fragile, so temporary.

The placenta is a gift from the child, a gift from the body, the placenta is sustaining even after birth and within this knowing I do my work. I give each placenta my undivided attention. I make sure to process the placenta in a way that is beneficial to the placenta. All placentas are unique and every encapsulation process I do is unique.

The mama is my priority. Placentas come first in my world. I take pride in the fact that I return most placentas to the mama within 24-30 hours of her child's birth! I take pride in the fact that I get to know my clients and follow up with them to check in on their well-being, their child's well-being and their family. I have a respect for this work that goes above an added value and a depth of gratitude for this work that fills my soul.

Sanitization Process

I only work  one placenta at a time.  There is only one in my home when I encapsulate so rest assured there will be no mix-ups.  I use a product called CaviCide to clean and disinfect.

CaviCide is a ready-to-use, intermediate-level disinfectant which is effective against TB, HBV, HCV, HIV, viruses (hydrophilic and lipophilic), bacteria (including MRSA and VRE) and fungi. It can be used in all areas of a facility including ICU, operating rooms, isolation rooms, patient care areas and laboratories. It also effectively cleans and decontaminates instrumentation. I use this on raw preparation work surfaces.

For equipment that I reuse like the pot to steam the placenta I use one-time use sheets as a protective barrier with each placenta then disinfect and clean with high temps.

All equipment and work surfaces are cleaned before and after use.  CaviCide is used immediately after the preparation of the raw placenta is completed.  Prior to this non-diluted vinegar is used to disinfect work area as I do not want to contaminate the placenta.
